windy things.

I had a pretty good day today. I went clothes shopping this morning. I went clothes shopping yesterday morning as well. I didn't buy any clothes today. I didn't buy any clothes yesterday. In other words: I'm the worst clothes shopper ever.
I bought some other things and spent the afternoon in Schönbrunn. I missed Schönbrunn so much. I haven't been there in ages (okay, June 2011) and fall is the best time for Schönbrunn. It's really calm and it's so pretty in the wood-part. So colorful. Also it's much more interesting to observe tourists and people when there aren't hundreds of them.

(1) I'm slightly obsessed with fashion magazines. I went to the biggest bookstore and discovered that they have Lula. omfg. I almost died when I saw that. And it was only €14,90. Yes, I know, sounds expensive. But that's cheap for an English fashion magazine, especially Lula. If you love fashion magazine and see a Lula somewhere, buy it! And if you live in the UK and love fashion, I don't understand why you do not already own every issue of Lula. No excuses accepted.
(2) Until a few weeks ago I kept saying that I hated rings. Well, this has changed a bit. I like them now. I bought the owl ring today. Love it. The only thing that's a bit annoying about rings, is that they are often that big. Or my fingers are super thin, I don't know. Anyway, I always buy the smallest size, but sometimes I'm almost losing them. btw, I only like rings like the ones in the pics. I don't like shiny jewelry, especially silver jewelry.
(3) Reason Number 346823064 why I don't want a typical wedding: wedding photoshoots.
(4) Cool job. I was surprised that they were three woman and one guy. Only positive.
(5) High isn't high enough. Also it's quite amusing how they're both leaning to the left. Haha.
(6) fall + Vienna = windy. I love it though.

I hope you had a wonderful day.

color peaks.

It has been a while since I last wrote something on my blog. I wasn't busy or anything like that. My life was nice and uneventful which made me kinda relaxed that I didn't care about doing something.
I spent three days in Vienna. I went there because I was bored and hoped for more fun in the city. It turned into a three day shopping trip and I ended up with green pants, nice shoes and an external harddrive (just to name a few things I bought).
I also went to one of my favorite museums (it seems to be a new tradition that I go to an exhibition every time I spent some time in Vienna) and it was fun. For the first time I actually thought of bringing a pen and some paper to write down things I like. I'm really bad at remembering names, so my previous visits at museums went more like that
"Ohhh, that's an amazing piece of art. I'm going to keep that name in mind" ...a few minutes later... "Wow, I love that. Who's the artist? I'll keep that in mind too...wait, what was the name of the other artist? um..." ...five paintings later... "I like that too. I'll never remember that artist's name longer than 10 seconds! WHY DIDN'T I BRING PEN AND PAPER?! AHHH!"
This time I brought something to write and wrote down everything I liked. I went to the Museum of Art History where you can see the same paintings all year long, but they also have some extra exhibitions through the year. This time they had Jan Fabre and they put his art in the middle of the other old paintings and it looked really cool. He drew all his things with blue BIC ball pens and it was really impressive. I wondered how many ball pens he used for his work and then it reminded me of John Green and all his Sharpies he uses to sign his not yet published books.
Oh, and I also found two sleeping people while I was at the museum (which I also wrote down). Two men, one of them was a guy who works at the museum. Ha, sleeping at work! I caught ya!
Back home I didn't do much. I started to watch Twin Peaks yesterday night somewhere between one and four AM and I'm already obsessed. So good.
And today I made a skirt out of a dress. I had this dress for a while and never wore it. I wore it once, then my mom put it into the washing machine and when it came out again it was to small and especially way too short (not my mom's fault btw). That's why I cut of the the top and made a skirt of the bottom part. I like it now and hope to wear it soon.
Here are some pictures of all the stuff I just told you and other pictures of stuff, like my picture wall I made for my room at my parents' house. I finally have one here.

(1) new shoes. (2) one of the outfits I wore in Vienna. Shorts: Forever21, white top: NewYorker, blouse: H&M (customized: I cut off the sleeves and some other parts...which you all can't see), tights: ???, bracelet: gift from an aunt. (3) part of my picture wall featuring Elizabeth Taylor, Johnny Depp, Picasso, Twiggy and others (can you find them?). (4) bun and Zombicorns. (5) at the museum. (6) more pictures wall with Salvador Dalí, Yuri Gagarin and others. (7) my "new" skirt. (8) screenshot from Twin Peaks. (9) more picture wall.

I hope you had a great week as well. I'm off now watching some more Twin Peaks and probably think about what to study at university. Yes, you heard it right. I'll probably return to university. Blah. I have 17 days left to decide what I want to study, so fingers crossed that I figure it out soooon.

birch crowned

Two years ago I crowned myself.
I crowned myself with a birch crown.
You can find the post by clicking here.
Now I went on a walk.
Found a birch tree.
And had the idea to repeat it.
It was fun.
And I was in a square mood when I cut the pictures.
Also I liked pretty much every pictures I took.
Something that hardly ever happens to me.
That's why this post includes tons of pictures.

people of the city.

Alone and self confident on the way to a meet up.
Focused in a group but with seperate thoughts.
Battling against the weather like a rebel.
Fake citizens for a day impressed and overwhelmed.
Dancing for attention and money.

They are the people of the city.
They all have a different part.
Altogether acting in the same play.

All pictures taken in Vienna on different days through the year.

blurry dreams

There's something dreamy about blurry pictures.
They are taken on purpose,
or just be accidents.
But never a reason to delete.

(01.) on a train ride home. with light reflections from inside the train.
(02.) view from my room in Vienna.
(03.) on a train ride to Vienna. with rain.
(04.) at a train station while sitting in a train. there's a rose flower lying on the rail tracks. slightly cheesy.

weekend all week long.

Being on vacation is a lot like the weekend just longer. It's wonderful to forget which day it is or even look how late it is. It doesn't matter.

This is the last Picture/Quote/Italy post. Here are the links to the previous posts:

turn like a record.

This black dot in the picture is not a mysterious phenomenon of nature, no, it's just the sign that my camera will probably die soon. My camera stopped working for a while after I dropped it in the sand. It worked again after I hit it with my hand really hard. Yes, this works. And then this black dot appeared. And now it's gone again and my camera is working fine...I hope it will live for at least one more year. I need my camera and I can't afford a new one at the moment :/

on the sides of the border.

On our way to Italy I noticed how the houses changed. If nobody had told me that we were in Italy I would still have recognized it. As soon as we passed the border the houses and churches looked Italian. It's interesting. A border is just an invisible line in the landscape and still it makes such a big difference on which side of the line you are.

The reason why I love to quote lyrics from Ezra Furman and the Harpoons is easy to explain. You just have to look at this quote. How can someone on this planet possibly write something like that? I don't get it. I could never write lyrics like that...

(05.) subway people.

One thing that I love about being at Vienna is that I see so many people. People with a great taste in fashion. People from all over the world. People who scare you. People (guys) you wish you could stare at for the rest of the day (life) (*cough*)...I can't do that in our small hometown.
Every time I see someone interesting, especially people with an awesome taste in fashion, I would like to put out my camera and take a picture. I love the idea of streetstyle blogging and I would definitely do it if I had 1.the courage to ask strangers if I can take a picture of them 2.a better camera 3.better photography skills and 4.some people who would like to join me in doing this.
Today I couldn't resist and took some pictures at the subway. They didn't realise that I was taking pictures and I tried my best to get some good pictures without their faces in it. I would never put a picture of a stranger without their permission on the internet. But, you can't see their faces, so it kinda could be anybody...so it's okay ;)
All the pictures are a bit blurry. Thank my cell phone for that. :/

I loved the style of the left girl. and the pattern of the right girl's clothes...awesome.
Asian tourists for the win :P this light and blue something is a person passing...nice effect.
This girl wore a fantastic hat, which I can't share :( and people with a basket full of strawberries is a thing you see a lot at the moment.
and that's me :) what I wore today: pants: Forever21. top: Zara. bag: Springfield. food: McDonalds :P

Bye, bye. :)

Italy update: The weather forecast is getting better. Keep your fingers crossed, please. :)

walls. stones. sky.

After this flood of words yesterday (you are very welcome to read it.) I have the feeling that a flood of photos is more than necessary. After a rainy Saturday the weather is back to normal which means hot. Cold inside, hot outside. I never know how to dress because I live in an over 100 year old building with thick walls. And it's always either super warm or super cold in here. When I'm not sure what to wear I wait until some people walk down the street and look what they're wearing ;)
I tend to not doing what I planned and today wasn't an exception. I wanted to take some video footage (I have quite a lot ideas for videos but I always suck when it comes to filming) and buy some tops and t-shirts. I ended up running around the inner city like crazy. I love to do that. Vienna's first district is simply the best (and there aren't many people who live in Vienna and still love the first district).
I finally went up to the Albertina, this very fancy museum I wish I could live in or at least have a membership so I could go there every day...dreams...
Whatever. I'm rambling again...It was a lovely day :)

walls.
stones.
 sky.

I hope you had a great Monday :)

my mind is dancing happily

Today was a good day. Filled with small things. Small things that made me happy.
It started early in the morning when I got up early enough to take a shower and wash my hair. It happens too often that I can't do that on mondays. I usually crawl out of bed late and grumpy.

I actually made it to university. Another fantastic thing. I think most of you know that I'm not a big fan of going to university. I had Dutch (and after that History of the Netherlands...but I skipped that one...I haven't been there since...um...I've never been there) and we got back our mid-term exam.

And I got 80 freaking points out of 100!!!

I almost did a happy dance. This is amazing. This is the first exam I passed since october and I didn't study for this one. I hate studying and I don't do things I hate, that's why I don't study (that's logic! :P). And I was sick the day before the exam and I felt sick while writing it as well.
So 80 points are amazing (our teacher said everything above 70 points is really good). Take that, university! (I have a bunch of things I would like to tell university right now, but this would contain a lot of cussing...so please just imagine it...or skip it and continue reading).
My day went on with me cooking lunch (a rare moment) and making plans what to do with the afternoon. There were a bunch of things I wanted to do and I decided to take pictures. I packed all my 3.5 cameras (the .5 is my cellphone) and went outside to carry them around for hours without taking a single picture. That's the only thing about today that wasn't great.
Instead I kinda went shopping. And I ran around in my new shoes. I love them!
Sorry, this pic is a bit blurry. Taking this picture included an acrobatic stunt where I almost fell from my chair.
I love them. They are so red and comfy and I can walk with them without looking drunk (I'm not used to heels and I tend to tumble even with flats...yup, balance is not my strength).
And then I found this book:
The day I swapped my Dad for two goldfish - Neil Gaiman (words) and Dave McKean (pictures)

I always wanted to have a book by Neil Gaiman. I heard so much about him. Now I own a picture book by him. And guess what. I got it for ONE Euro! One instead of 19,95. WIN!
I already love this book. It's not the best picture book I know but the story is funny and I laughed a lot and look at the illustrations. Amazing!

This was my day.
I like it when small things make me happy. :)

Btw, are my posts too long? My posts are pretty long at the moment and I'm worried that I bore you...please let me know if they are too long. Thanks :)

Ps: Thanks again for your comments on my post about the unfollowing. You guys are awesome :)

joy over screaming teenage girls and poop on my shoes

Happy Birthday to my blog. I love you and I can't believe that you're already two. :)
Due to a giant lack of creativity there's no fancy anniversary post (yesterday's post was more an anniversary post than this thing here...read it if you want).

As I said yesterday I like the blog anniversary better than my own birthday, that's why I spent the afternoon doing some fun stuff. I spent the morning trying to calm down and writing a mid-term exam. Yes, a mid-term exam. It's so unfair. I have my finals at the very end of June :(

Okay. What I did today: After writing the exam I rushed home, charged my camera, my phone and my mp3-player, because everything was almost dead and after killing one or two hours with tumblr, I got on the subway and went all the way to Shönbrunn. I haven't been there in a while. Turned out that at this time of the year there are a lot of 1.Asian people 2.other non-asian tourists 3.mothers with their babies 4.old people reading the newspaper or solving crossword puzzles 5.young couples making out. Um. Yeah. A place for everyone.

I kinda got bored. Maybe because of all the groups of people mentioned above or maybe it was the heat. I don't know. I thought I need a place where it is fun, which is more birthday-like. And what's better for such a thing than the Würstelprater, Vienna's amusement park. Yay!
Here are some pictures I took there:

I was surprised that there weren't many people. Okay. It's Wednesday. A school day.
I liked it there. Everything's so colorful. There are so many things to see. Music everywhere. People screaming at the top of their lungs. Fantastic.
I really enjoyed the screaming teenage girls (there were mostly teenage girls). And their faces before the crazy ride started. Priceless.
And no, I did not take a ride. I'm not crazy, okay? Honestly. When it comes to roller coasters and such things I'm the biggest coward ever. I would totally die on a roller coaster.
I prefer to stand there and look at the people who have fun and scream instead of me.

It was a fantastic afternoon. The only thing that wasn't that fun was the moment when I wondered why the ground is soft and it turned out that the soft ground was dog poop. I'm talented when it comes to getting my shoes into dog poop...sigh.

I hope you had fantastic day as well.
And I hope that my third blogger year will be as good as this one.
Or even better. :)
