back to school/university outfit inspirations.

After making the decision to go back to university in October I got excited about what I could wear at university and fall fashion. Fall is my favorite season when it comes to clothes. You can do so many things with layers and I love fall colors.
To get some ideas I created some inspiration collages using pictures I found on Tumblr. Non of these pictures are mine. Click the pictures to see all the details.

When I look at this, every single bit of it reminds me of school, which isn't necessarily bad. I like it a lot. Books, glasses, comfy shoes and jackets, a café where you hang out when you have nothing to do, warm colors and layers. Layers are important at university. The main building of our university was built in 1884 and it's extremely cold in there in the Winter. I'll be in a different building this fall/winter, I don't know how cold it gets there, but I want to be prepared. For Fall I love dark red, dirty yellows and jeans.

I love prints and patterns. I like the idea of wearing a t-shirt that looks like lined paper. What I like a lot in this picture are the hairstyles of the girls. I wish I could do my hair like that (I'm not good when it comes to doing something my hair). Also playing around with black and white never gets old. I usually wear a lot of colors, but sometimes I'm not in the mood and I think patterns like that are a good way to wear black/white without looking boring.

I like to dress neat, but what I like even more is to dress how I feel, make it comfortable. So this is slightly grunge inspired. I love to mix together everything, not follow any rules and try to bring in my personality.
And some pink and green hair, because you know...I wish I had...

And hear we go with the neat one. Again some yellow and brown. I love collars. I only have a few pieces in my wardrobe with a collar, but I want to change that. The second pic (the one with the pineapples) is from the new Urban Outfitters lookbook. We don't have UO here in Austria and I've never been to one of their stores, but I love their lookbooks.
I wore the style you see in this last collage a lot 2 years ago (or at least try to). I wore dresses and skirts all the time. Now I don't feel that comfortable in skirts and dresses anymore. I still love this look and I'll try to combine my current style with elements you can see here.

When are you going to start with school/college/university/etc. again? Or is your summer break already over?
And what's your fall must-have or your favorite color to wear in fall? I'd love to know... :)

the interiors of suspiria

A few days ago I decided to do something else than watching Twin Peaks all day long and decided to watch a movie instead. That's how I rule. I don't want to sit in front of the computer watching Twin Peaks all day long, so I'm sitting in front of the computer and watch a movie.
I watched Suspiria. A horror film from the 70s by the Italian director Dario Argento. I like old horror films quite a lot. I can't stand the new ones, trash like Saw etc. I like these old ones where you only get scared a little and there is a story and everything's so beautiful.
Suspiria is a movie with awkward acting, creepy smiling, amusing stabbing, childlike dialogs, the best soundtrack I've heard in a good while, and the most beautiful colors and interior design ever. I fell in love with the interior design. Take a look and listen to the theme of the movie:

The colors! I love them. And blue velvet walls? I mean, come on, they are awesome, right? ;)

Do you know some good old horror films? Or other movies with amazing interior designs or buildings?

people of the city.

Alone and self confident on the way to a meet up.
Focused in a group but with seperate thoughts.
Battling against the weather like a rebel.
Fake citizens for a day impressed and overwhelmed.
Dancing for attention and money.

They are the people of the city.
They all have a different part.
Altogether acting in the same play.

All pictures taken in Vienna on different days through the year.

blurry dreams

There's something dreamy about blurry pictures.
They are taken on purpose,
or just be accidents.
But never a reason to delete.

(01.) on a train ride home. with light reflections from inside the train.
(02.) view from my room in Vienna.
(03.) on a train ride to Vienna. with rain.
(04.) at a train station while sitting in a train. there's a rose flower lying on the rail tracks. slightly cheesy.

Pattern

I decided to give my room a little makeover. Nothing big, just a change of my decoration. You can click HERE to see some of my old decoration.
I don't know why I'm doing this whole new decoration thing, because I'll probably move out after this summer, which means that I won't be home a lot anymore. Less often than now.
I don't like to give my room a certain theme, I prefer to mix all kind of stuff I like together. This time some things are inspired by the 80s. I like the 80s and now I have quite a lot magazines from the 80s, I don't know what else to do.
And I like the idea of patterns. I don't know if I'm going to do something repetitive in my room and there won't be pink teddy bears and lace, but it's inspiring.
But there will be pattern sheet. Pattern sheets are awesome.

I'll post about the room when I'm done with it.

Pictures taken from old magazines.

rocking the 80s

I recently went to a thrift store/fleamarket something and found some old magazines from the 80s. Sadly they didn't have old fashion magazines, which I bet are hard to get because everyone wants old fashion magazines. Anyway, I love these old PM and National Geographic magazines I got.
While going through these magazines I came to the conclusion that the 80s were weird, creepy and also cool. I scanned some pics/ads to share with you. I love them. The style of the people. The colors. Everything's so different...and cool.
Look at the shoes in picture number 1. I didn't know that those shoes already existed in the 80s. I thought it's something new when they became popular a few years ago. So cool.
And picture number 6 is hilarious. It's an ad from 1990 for the new Bosch mobile phone. The ad said that you can easily carry it around everywhere...even with your bicycle! :D

Pictures scanned from magazines: (1)Sony advertisement. 1986. PM magazine. (2)Advertisement for a life insurance. 1985. PM magazine. (3)AT&T advertisement. 1990. PM magazine. (4)1982. National Geographic. (5)Deutsche Bank advertisement. 1986. PM magazine. (6)Bosch advertisement. 1990. PM magazine. (7)Lufthansa advertisement. 1991. PM magazine.

P.s.: This is my 400th post. Yay.

May Inspirations

I love to see what people inspires, that's one reason why I think Tumblr is awesome. You can find out what people love.
And here it is. Some of my inspirations in May.
I want to post a collection of my inspirations every month now.

Space.
source.
I love space. I don't even know why. I reblog almost every space related picture that shows up in my dashboard. Weird obsession? Yes. :)

Stunning Photography.
via.
No words needed.

Birds.
via.
Also one of these weird things I love. This gif is from the movie The Birds (just in case you want to know it).

Cole Mohr.
via.
Weird obsession number three. I get obsessed with fashion, models and fashion business on a regular basis and it seems like it's time again. I love fashion all the time, I just have phases when I'm really obsessed with it.

Corpse Bride.
via.
No doubts. Best movie of May.

Music.
Music is always an inspiration for me. Here are five songs that describe May the best (music wise).
Love Today - MIKA
Chelsea Dagger - The Fratellis
I wanna go crazy - David Guetta (lyrics not clean!)
Young Blood - The Naked And Famous
Electric Wave - Tom Milsom

I know I blog a lot at the moment. I feel like I'm throwing way to much posts into the internet. But I don't know what else to do with all the things in my mind. I have too much to say and too many ideas. So deal with it! ;)
Have a wonderful last day of May.

I'll never tell them. You're an exception.

I want to fly away...
...and don't leave anybody behind.
I want to love...
...and never see my name in a tree.
I want one to show me the right direction...
...and go my own way.
I want...
...and I don't.

Location: The park around Schönbrunn Palace. The best place of Vienna.

Note #01: Second best place is the Central Cemetery.

Note #02: People never get it, that those are the best places, but they are, they just don't see it.

Note #03: I'll never tell them.  The less people know it the better it is.

Alive...Thoughts from the Cemetery

I walked on the paths through the cemetery.
I didn't pay attention on where I go.
I walked and just went on.
I wasn't scared to get lost.
I felt save.
I felt secure.
Secure in the middle of 3 million dead people.
A place full of silence.
A place where many people find their final rest.

As I walked on the gravel path
I looked at the beautiful tombstones.
At all the details.
I looked up to figures out of stone.
Angels, Soldiers.
Birds were sitting on their heads,
on their arms.
I looked around.
Felt the nature,
the wilderness between the graves,
as a bunny crossed my way.
This place is alive.
Where one life ends the next starts.
And that's okay.

It may seemed odd
to see a man jogging through the cemetery.
It for sure is strange
to see a bus circulating at this place.
But it is okay.

It's okay to share a place with dead people.
Not to forget them.

And I went back to the gate.
After spending an hour at the calmest place I've been in a long time.
And I was scared.
Scared to step back in the world I came from.
It was hard to leave,
but I knew I'll come back.
Alive.

Location: Zentralfriedhof (Central Cemetary) Vienna. 3 million dead people. Second largest cemetery of Europe. And the calmest and most impressive place I've been in ages.

Note #01: The picture is one of the few pictures I took. It felt so wrong to take pictures of graves. It's like taking pictures of houses you came across. It's private...what do you think?

Note #02: Yes, I'm kind of turning into a poet...still don't like poems...

Magazine Message

Inspired today...
Thanks to the cinema which is friendly enough to place free movie magazines all over the shopping mall I live (well, I don't live IN the mall, I live over the mall...same building though)

Not easy to find English headlines in Austria...
It took me ages to put this message together

I like how it turned out

oh, and I figured out how to take pictures with my webcam (second pic)

Good night!
