every day, once a day, give yourself a present.

This week I spent all day long watching Twin Peaks and doing nothing else. Yesterday I reminded myself, that I should probably watch less Twin Peaks and care a bit more about my social life. There are some emails I actually WANT to answer and I feel terribly bad about not reading and commenting at my favorite blogs. So my next plan after Twin Peaks is caring about my social life. Which will probably be tomorrow. I'm only 5 episodes away from the Twin Peaks finale and we all can be glad (in this case) that Twin Peaks has only two seasons.
Although I loved the series I'm looking forward to the end. Not only because of my social life, also because it keeps me awake all the time and I kinda want to go to bed before 1:30 in the morning again. Would be nice. Just saying. Also watching a series like Twin Peaks, which has some mysterious, scary (only scary at night) elements in it, late at night is not a good idea. Yesterday night a silverfish fell from the ceiling on my arm while watching Twin Peaks and I almost screamed and jumped out of bed. Dangerous stuff.

Other than that I don't do much. I'm still trying to figure out what to study, but I have to be honest, I don't spend much time thinking about it or actually trying to find a solution (damn you, time-consuming Twin Peaks!). The only thing I do is panic once a day and write a Tweet about my panic. I have 13 days left to make decision.
What I started to think about instead is school. Now that I'm away from it my aversion is even bigger. While I was at school I disliked it, because struggeled quite a lot and had enough of this whole circus. Now I could talk for hours about how crappy the Austrian school system is and complain about our messed up society.
School (at least my school) is pretty messed up. There's a lot that should be different and I'm not a fan of the school system of the US, but there are some things I like about it (small things) and we should also look a bit to Germany and maybe all the other countries and start to teach our students something instead of just bringing them through school, no matter how.
I'm planning on writing a blog post about something similar to that. About our messed up universities (yes, everything's messed up). They are far away from perfect.
Maybe deep inside I currently complain that much about school and university because I'm looking for something that's the reason for my messed up self. Not that I can feel that, but who knows what's going on deep inside of us.
Now that I think about it, why shouldn't I be messed up? School is a mess, university is mess, this only leads to me being a mess....whatever.
Bye. I have some Twin Peaks to watch.

"Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it, don't wait for it, just let it happen. Could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot, black coffee. Like this."

my favorite tv shows

Day 05 - what are five of your favorite tv shows that are currently airing? that have been canceled?

Talking about tv shows is a bit difficult for me, because I don't watch tv. And when I say that I don't watch tv I mean that word by word. I haven't watched tv the last ~2 years (except when I had to do it for some reasons like to be nice or if I wanted to talk to someone who was watching tv...). I don't need television.
So I can't talk about what shows I like that are currently airing/have been canceled, because I have no idea what shows are currently airing.
But I do watch tv shows sometimes, but not on tv. I either buy them on DVD (which is quite expensive) or watch them on YouTube, but I always feel bad when I watch tv series on YouTube. When it comes to music and movies I'm such a good person. I always feel terrible when I watch something online or download music for free. Most of the time such things aren't even legal and I don't do illegal stuff.
Anyway...here are some of the tv shows I watch and love and how I found them.

1. Friends

I started watching this show because Hope blogged/talked a lot about it and she loves it. I gave it a try and fell in love. I have Season 1-7 on DVD and I'm in the middle of Season 7.

2. The Big Bang Theory

I found TBBT through this video on YouTube. I liked the theme song of the show and checked it out on YouTube. I loved the clips I saw there and decided to buy Season 1. I got Season 2 for Christmas and I can't wait to get and watch Season 3. I love this series.

3. Freaks and Geeks

Freaks and Geeks is one of the best tv shows ever. I don't understand why they canceled this show after one season (and they didn't even show all episodes of the season on tv!). I found this show through the blog Style Rookie. So glad I found it.

4. Sabrina the Teenage Witch

Sabrina the Teenage Witch is something I always liked. I remember watching it when I was 9 or 10 years old. I kinda forgot about it. Then 2 years ago Lena told me that she's watching Sabrina from the first to the last episode and I started to watch it too. I haven't seen an episode in a while and I've never finished all seasons, but I love it.

These are pretty much the only tv shows I know. I don't watch any of them at the moment. I want to finish Friends over the summer (when I have the money), but I haven't seen an episode in like 2 months.
Back in the times where I watched tv I liked to watch Desperate Housewives every now and then. And I was a big The Simpsons fan for a long time (I also liked Futurama). And I've seen some episodes of Gilmore Girls. And a bit of Two and a Half Men, Private Practice, Scrubs and Grey's Anatomy because my brothers likes these kind of series and I hate them.

One more thing. I'd love to watch Doctor Who. But they are way to expensive to buy and I think they don't show it on tv (and they would be in German...and German sucks when it comes to movies/shows) and as I said before I feel uncomfortable watching such things online. So I'll never see Doctor Who :(

I don't own the pictures in this post.

C.K.Watt

I love Fawlty Towers! It's such a hilarious series. And Manuel is definitely the best!
Go watch it! It's so funny...
