dots.

I'm back to Vienna for the next two days. Yay! I love to return to my second hometown, even though I don't like the apartment I live in. I mean it could be worse, but I don't like it that our kitchen doesn't have a window, it's dark in here, the other four people in this apartment are not the kind of people I like to hang out with, someone keeps stealing my food, and someone's car alarm goes off after midnight on a regular basis. etc.
But I love the city and I love to dress up when I come to the city. So here's what I wore on the train ride to Vienna.

What I love about this outfit is, that the shirt is handed down and that the skirt is a "recycled" dress. Something I want to do more in the future. I want to find some good thrift stores (not easy here) and also try to do something with clothes I don't like to wear anymore. Like make a skirt out of a dress...

back to school/university outfit inspirations.

After making the decision to go back to university in October I got excited about what I could wear at university and fall fashion. Fall is my favorite season when it comes to clothes. You can do so many things with layers and I love fall colors.
To get some ideas I created some inspiration collages using pictures I found on Tumblr. Non of these pictures are mine. Click the pictures to see all the details.

When I look at this, every single bit of it reminds me of school, which isn't necessarily bad. I like it a lot. Books, glasses, comfy shoes and jackets, a café where you hang out when you have nothing to do, warm colors and layers. Layers are important at university. The main building of our university was built in 1884 and it's extremely cold in there in the Winter. I'll be in a different building this fall/winter, I don't know how cold it gets there, but I want to be prepared. For Fall I love dark red, dirty yellows and jeans.

I love prints and patterns. I like the idea of wearing a t-shirt that looks like lined paper. What I like a lot in this picture are the hairstyles of the girls. I wish I could do my hair like that (I'm not good when it comes to doing something my hair). Also playing around with black and white never gets old. I usually wear a lot of colors, but sometimes I'm not in the mood and I think patterns like that are a good way to wear black/white without looking boring.

I like to dress neat, but what I like even more is to dress how I feel, make it comfortable. So this is slightly grunge inspired. I love to mix together everything, not follow any rules and try to bring in my personality.
And some pink and green hair, because you know...I wish I had...

And hear we go with the neat one. Again some yellow and brown. I love collars. I only have a few pieces in my wardrobe with a collar, but I want to change that. The second pic (the one with the pineapples) is from the new Urban Outfitters lookbook. We don't have UO here in Austria and I've never been to one of their stores, but I love their lookbooks.
I wore the style you see in this last collage a lot 2 years ago (or at least try to). I wore dresses and skirts all the time. Now I don't feel that comfortable in skirts and dresses anymore. I still love this look and I'll try to combine my current style with elements you can see here.

When are you going to start with school/college/university/etc. again? Or is your summer break already over?
And what's your fall must-have or your favorite color to wear in fall? I'd love to know... :)

wrapped in Great Britain.

Tonight I brought back old times by taking a large piece of fabric (in this case a flag of Great Britain) and creating some fancy dresses with just a few safety pins. I did a lot a few years ago (I don't think I've ever blogged about that).
Here are two of my creations.

The pictures are not the best. I suck at taking pictures of myself + it's almost midnight and you can guess how good the light is in here...haha + I'm way to lazy to edit pictures...enjoy the red eyes. Also I wear glasses in some of these pics and in some of them I don't wear them. I wanted to shoot all of them without glasses, because I realized a few days ago that I forgot how I look like without glasses. Yes, this happens when you wear glasses all the time. I don't like myself without glasses (except this first pic...I like that...). The reason why I wear glasses in some is that I always put my glasses back on to look at the picture I just took because I'm a bit blind without them and then I forgot to put them off again before I got ready for the next picture. :/

subway people. part 2.

Nobody can stop me from being creepy. It's way too much fun.

Love this style. And this girl could draw...wow. (took it on the train, not the subway)
Nothing better than a guy reading a book on the subway.
The age of this woman? Probably 75...dressed too young? nope, it looked fantastic on her.
Absolutely fantastic. I would never wear it, but this girl definitely knows how to dress.

P.s.: Is anybody wondering what happened to this "I post my daily outfits" thing? Well, I don't know what happened to that...that's how I rule. I always start doing things and never finish them. Sorry.

P.p.s.: If you find yourself in one of these pictures (who knows who finds my blog...) and don't want to be seen here, just tell me and I take the picture down.

06. ready for the beach.

I have some good news...good news for me :P I'll spend my weekend in Italy. Yay!
My Dad texted me this morning that we're going and my mind immediately made a happy dance. I can't wait to lie at the beach, dig my feet into the sand and look at the waves of the water.
I'm not a person who usually likes to lie around on the beach and swims in the ocean. Actually it's something I can't stand, especially because I hate swimming in the ocean and I can't stand the heat. But from time to time it's nice to relax and do nothing. And I love to walk at the beach in the evening and enjoy the ocean.
And I can't wait to be in Italy again, hear people speaking Italian, eat Italian pizza and Italian ice cream. All these typical Italian things...hm...now I feel like a typical tourist. But who cares, it's okay to be super touristy from time to time :)
Oh, and I can't wait to be in this certain place of Italy again. We're going to Lignano Sabbiadoro. The last time I've been there was 10 years ago and I can't wait to see everything again. So many memories. I don't have a lot of memories from when I was little, but Lignano...wow...so many.
Anyway...I won't blog over the weekend and I hope to get some pictures from the beach to share with you. And today I finally had a good reason to buy a big hat. I feel sick in the sun quite easily and a big hat is a good way to protect me from too much sun. :)

everything Forever21.

Oh, and Hope, you have to learn how to deal with my wall...you're going to see it a lot in June ;)

Have a wonderful week.
Bye.

(05.) subway people.

One thing that I love about being at Vienna is that I see so many people. People with a great taste in fashion. People from all over the world. People who scare you. People (guys) you wish you could stare at for the rest of the day (life) (*cough*)...I can't do that in our small hometown.
Every time I see someone interesting, especially people with an awesome taste in fashion, I would like to put out my camera and take a picture. I love the idea of streetstyle blogging and I would definitely do it if I had 1.the courage to ask strangers if I can take a picture of them 2.a better camera 3.better photography skills and 4.some people who would like to join me in doing this.
Today I couldn't resist and took some pictures at the subway. They didn't realise that I was taking pictures and I tried my best to get some good pictures without their faces in it. I would never put a picture of a stranger without their permission on the internet. But, you can't see their faces, so it kinda could be anybody...so it's okay ;)
All the pictures are a bit blurry. Thank my cell phone for that. :/

I loved the style of the left girl. and the pattern of the right girl's clothes...awesome.
Asian tourists for the win :P this light and blue something is a person passing...nice effect.
This girl wore a fantastic hat, which I can't share :( and people with a basket full of strawberries is a thing you see a lot at the moment.
and that's me :) what I wore today: pants: Forever21. top: Zara. bag: Springfield. food: McDonalds :P

Bye, bye. :)

Italy update: The weather forecast is getting better. Keep your fingers crossed, please. :)

03. Umbrellas without Rain

Being at my hometown means that I can take outfit pictures outside. I could do them in Vienna too, but I'm definitely not the kind of person who puts out a camera and a tripod in public. Nope.
It's much more fun to do outfit shoots outside. Also the light is much more better. I always have problems with the light when I take pictures inside.
I couldn't really decide which photos to post, there were too many. What do you think? What's a good number of photos for an outfit post? 5? 4? Less? More?

jeans: Tally Weijl, blouse: Promod, top: New Yorker, shoes: Forever21

I don't own a lot of blouses. But I got three recently. My mom bought me a white one and a black one because I borrowed her white blouse all the time. ;) And then I got this one. I love it. I love prints and those umbrellas are just cute.

02. Lazy and Comfy

Apparently June means April weather-wise. On Tuesday I ran around in shorts, today I had to dig out pants and a cardigan. I hope that they'll make good weather again soon (whoever makes the weather...).
What I wore today is more or less a typical lazy-Antonia-outfit. Pants, t-shirt, cardigan. I wear that a lot. I also chose this outfit today because I went home by train and you need comfy clothes on the train.
And it turned out that the weather in my hometown is much more better than in Vienna. What a good decision to come home :)
Please ignore my tired face. I was sleepy the whole day...

Pants: Tally Weijl. T-Shirt: New Yorker. Cardigan: Zara. Shoes: Forever21

As you can see, I got me some new shoes. Not from H&M but from Forever21. I guess the quality will be as bad as H&M quality...and they have an amazing color. Love!
And enjoy my favorite background for shoe photos.

One more thing: What do you think about a second Q&A vlog? I'm in the mood of doing one soon...Good idea? Or not?

01. Horses and Flowers.

It's June! Yay! Anyone else excited? I hope so.
I thought about what to do in June on my blog and decided to post my daily outfits. As I said yesterday I'm a bit obsessed with fashion at the moment. I wanted to do this daily outfits thing in May, but for some reason I didn't.
But this month I will.
I won't post outfits every day but as often as possible. There are days in the week when I don't leave the house and I usually only wear old, comfy clothes at home.
Today's outfit is yesterday's outfit to be correct. It finally was hot enough to wear shorts. My opinion on shorts changes all the time. I hated them last year, this year I love them. There will be a lot of shorts in June. I love to wear skirts and I wore skirts and dresses all the time in May, but in Vienna it's always windy and I'm a bit tired of being busy to hold my skirt down.
So here's my outfit. I'm terrible at taking pictures of myself. I hope to get better at it this month...

Shorts: Forever21, black top, horse top and shoes: H&M

I'm in love with those wide and short t-shirts. My cousin calls them "carpets sewed together with a hole on top". Well, I think we have a slightly different taste in fashion...
And I love H&M shoes. They are super cheap and fall apart after 2-3 months. Yes, I like that. I had black ones at the beginning of the year. I almost cried when I had to throw them away. I loved them so much. But now I have my flower shoes and I'm happy again. The only problem, they start to fall apart again. I'm already looking for a new pair.

Next outfit post hopefully tomorrow.
Oh, and of course, there won't be only fashion post. I'm going to blog as always just with a bit more fashion.
Bye.

My Style. Fashion-wise.

Natalie once asked me about my style. Fashion-wise. Now I'm finally going to answer this question and this post is all about my fashion style.
I love fashion. I love it when people care about what they wear. I love fashion magazines. I love to read some fashion blogs (favorite: The Clothes Horse).
When it comes to me putting together outfits I tend to suck a lot. I'm way to lazy and maybe I just don't have the "gift" to look awesome every day. And there's also the problem that not much clothes fit me.

I would describe my style with the words:

  feminine - comfy - childlike

feminine: I wear a lot of skirts/dresses
comfy: What I wear has to be comfortable
childlike: I like to mix colors, wear colorful tights and wear t-shirts with prints.

What I wore today: skirt - H&M, t-shirt - can't remember, tights - Pimkie, camera ;) - flea market

T-Shirts/Tops: I wear t-shirts all the time. T-shirts with a print on it are the best. I want to grow a big collection of them.
I also try to get into blouses at the moment. Let's see how this turns out...

Skirt - H&M, T-Shirt - Zara, Tights - Pimkie
the skirt looks short in this picture. I just wore it like that for the picture. that's kinda the length where I start thinking that it might be too short ;)

Pants: mostly wear skinny jeans. Not super skinny though. I don't like super skinny jeans *shiver*
Buying jeans is pretty easy. I buy them all at Tally Weijl. That's the only place where I can find good, fitting jeans. I don't even look at jeans/pants in other stores.
(sorry, Blogger messed this up, that's why there is space in front of Pants. :/ )

Skirt - H&M, t-shirt - H&M, Cardigan - Tally Weijl, Shoes - Converse

Skirts/Dresses: I love skirts. In my opinon you can't have enough skirts. I can't get enough of them. My favorite length is knee length. Not over the knees, just a bit above. I look awkward in skirts that cover my knees or are even longer. I don't like mini skirts. They don't look nice and I don't like to be scared all the time that someone can probably see my underwear. No, not good.
I don't have that many dresses. I love them too, but I prefer skirts.

Dress - BlendShe, t-shirt - Vero Moda, tights - Calzedonia

Accessory/Jewelry: I don't wear jewelry and the only accessory you'll find in my weardrobe are bags/purses. I like some jewelry on other people, but I can't stand it to have something around my neck or my arms or rings. Oh dear. Rings! I'm so not looking forward to wear a wedding ring one day (oh, and I think that like 90% of all wedding rings I've ever seen are ugly... :/ ). I can't even stand belts! Who else can't stand jewelry/accessory? I would like to know some more people ;)

Skirt - H&M, top - New Yorker, Cardigan - Zara, Thights - Pimkie (I wear my yellow tights A LOT)

Tights: Tights are extremely important for me. I have them in so many colors. I wear them a lot. At the moment my favorite color is yellow.
I'm a tights fangirl. :)

Skirt - Only (or Vero Moda...can't remember), coat - H&M, tights - H&M, shoes - can't remember, Bag - Springfield, Beanie - H&M

Shoes: Haha, shoes. I'm one of these girls who hates to buy shoes. I like shoes, but I hate to buy them because I can never find shoes that fit. I lose most of the shoes I try at the store after a few meters. My feet are super slim. And that's not enough. I also have to wear insoles (stupid scoliosis). And no try to find shoes for slim feets and insoles. I can tell you that it is not fun.
That's why I wear Converse most of the time. Original Converse. I can't walk with fake ones.

Hair: How I do my hair in the morning: I comb it in the morning and then never look at it again.
I gave it up completely to try to do something with my hair. My hair is too thick to do anything with it. I can't braid them. I can't put them together in a pun. It just doesn't work.
That's why I leave my hair how it is. I don't like my hair that much. The last time I liked my hair was when I was 7 years old :/
And in case you want to know if I can imagine dying my hair: yes and no. I don't want to dye it at the moment, but maybe one day. One thing I love is blue hair. I don't think that I would look with blue hair, but maybe I'll try it someday just for fun. But I can tell you that I won't do it in Austria.

That's all I can say about fashion. I hope that answers the question about my style. :)

Disco clothes or clown costume?

My Mom searched through the attic today and found some of her old clothes. First she found an oversized white t-shirt with a Mickey Mouse print. It's cute and I would definitely wear it at home or in bed.
My Mom told me that she loved this t-shirt when she was around 20. It was something really special, because not many people had such a cool shirt. She bought it in a little boutique. That's where you got Mickey Mouse shirts 30 years ago. ;)
Today she smiled and said proudly "I wore this t-shirt at the disco."
I was like "You're kidding?!"
No, she wasn't. She was absolutely serious.
My Mom continued searching and found another piece. A vest she sewed by herself. Here it is:
(sorry, bad webcam quality :/ )

Guess what?
Mom: "I wore this at the disco."
I couldn't stop laughing. So funny!
Who would wear a Mickey Mouse shirt and a turquoise vest at the disco?
Nobody.
Also disco was a lot different when my Mom was 20-25 years old. I'm always surprised how different everything was 30 years ago.
Nowadays disco is just drinking alcohol and awful loud music. My Mom went to the disco to talk (is talking even possible in today's discos with super loud music?) and dance (cool dancing) and my Mom doesn't even drink alcohol!
It's sad that it changed so much.

Also my Mom talks a lot about dresses, skirts and other things she sewed when she was young. It was less expensive when she was young. People sewed their own clothes because they couldn't effort to buy everything at a store. It was something special to buy a dress at the store.
And today? It's much cheaper to go to a store and buy everything you want than sewing your own clothes.
I would LOVE to learn to sew my own dresses and skirts, but it is super expensive.
I don't know how it is in the US, but here in Austria fabric is really expensive. I don't have enough money to sew my own clothes. That's so sad :(

While writing this post I remembered that I've already worn my Mom's vest once years ago. Not to go to the disco. No. To dress up like a clown for the clown party in kindergarten :D

Only pictures in May - Day 11 - New Skirt

Today I sewed a new skirt. I used the tutorial I found on a blog called Grosgrain. Click here to read it. It's called a "20 Minute Skirt". Well, it took me an hour to do, but I think it's okay, because I don't sew a lot and don't have much practice.
I took some photos in the garden with the new skirt.

And here is a picture to see the pattern. Click!
There are tiny flowers on it.
