I'm not homesick. I think it's normal that you miss things when you move to a different place. I've never moved before. Moving to Vienna was a completely new experience to me.
I like Vienna a lot, but I miss some things (beside my family).
Nature. At my home in Styria I just have to step out of the house and I see trees and grass and birds and I can explore the nature. Go into the woods and smell the flowers and the trees. I love that. And I miss it.
Here in Vienna I step out of the house and see people, streets, cars, buildings. Maybe three lonely trees somewhere and a bit grass here and there. But not the pure nature I know from my hometown.
Cherry Tree. We have a bit cherry tree in our garden. I love this tree and I would cry if my parents finally cut it down (they talked about it many times and I can't believe how they can even think about it! I love this tree!). The stands near my window and I miss the sound of the wind playing with the leaves. It sounds a bit like water. I loved it to open my window at night, close my eyes and listen to the wind.
Fog. Yes, I miss the fog. Why isn't there any fog in Vienna? Or only a bit fog. The fog is the only thing I love about november. Fog, fog, fog. I love it to wake up, look out of the window and see only fog. Oh, I miss it!
Stars. I'm a nightowl and I loved to open the window at night, sit on my desk (my desk at home is next to the window) and look at the stars. Sometimes I lean (nearly fall ;)) out of the window to have a perfect view at the sky. Some day I would like to meet somebody who can explain all the stars to me. I would love to know all the names.
I miss it so much! Especially now when it gets colder...
Neighbours. Okay, that's weird. Have you seen the movie "Rear Window"? I'm a lot like the guy in this movie. I love to know what my neighbours, who don't know me, are doing. But I do not use telephoto lense or a spyglass to observe my neighbours ;)
That is such a pretty picture of the countryside!
ReplyDeleteI miss living in an area where I can explore the woods and nature surrounding me. I do have trees and all in my new area, buts it's not the same. :(
ReplyDeletewhat a gorgeous picture! I would LOVE to wake up to that in the morning :) My desk is by the window and I like to "spy" on our neighbors ;)
ReplyDeleteGod bless!
